Help!  We're repatriating back to the US and had found our maid, Lilian, a new family to work for and they got a call last week to come home!  So, I now have a dilemma of trying to find her a family to work for before we go home...

I can't say enough about Lilian.  She has been with our family since December 1998. She has been a wonderful caregiver to our sons, Scott and Taylor (a 4-yr-old who has been quite a challenge for her as well as the rest of the family) who will certainly miss her kindness and patience.  She previously worked for an expat family for 2 years and cared for three boys all under the age of 6.

Lilian has planned all our meals, kept track of staples and ordered from the provisioner.  She also does grocery shopping.  She cooks Chinese, Filipino, and Western dishes quite well.  She's efficient at cleaning and has set up her own schedule.

Lilian speaks, reads, and writes English very well.  She can be counted on to do almost anything required of her.  We think the world of Lilian and would like her to be working with another family before we repatriate to the US.

If you would like to set up an interview with Lilian, please call Lilian or Diane @ 235-6586

Honestly, I had a nightmare of a maid when we first moved here and gave her chances for over a year.  When we found Lilian it was like a breath of fresh air.  She's a self starter, needs little direction and has a great disposition.

Sounds good but what wages are you paying her? I'm just wondering if we can afford her before speaking with her!

Pete . . . we pay her $550/mo and have found that it's a small price to pay for peace of mind and the trust issue.  I think that those who have had a bad experience (like we did at first) are more than willing to pay for a quality employee.  I truly believe you 'get what you pay for'.

Good/bad news though... she had an interview yesterday and accepted the job!

Thanks for inquiring, though.
