I'll be moving to Singapore in a months time from the UK. I've got a full time 9-5 Mon- Fri job lined up but still worried I'll be bored in the evenings.  Could anyone tell me how easy it will be for me to tutor English in the evenings?

Go to Orchard Towers in the evenings. It's a great place to be bored I can tell you!

Aren't you the lucky one?  Monday - Friday, 9 to 5!!!  I didn't think those jobs existed in Singapore!  I suppose you may be a bit bored after a while 'cause everyone else will be working longer hours.

Seriously though, I am sure there are lots of tutoring positions available and there is good money to be made out of it.  Check the local paper once you arrive, there are usually quite a few numbers to call to register yourself as a tutor.  I have a couple of friends who have ventured down this path.  Good luck.

Better wait and see if you really do get off work at 5.30 pm sharp.

And if you do, let us know where you work  .  .  .

Sadly it is true.

There are plenty of people here who could complete all their work in a few hours a day, but dedication is measured not by what you try to achieve, but by how long you can remain glued to your desk.

Hahaha, guess I must be one of the few lucky ones that WILL be able to leave on time- the fact is the job doesn't allow you to work over!
Well it does have its pros and cons ofcourse!

Being bored has got nothing to do with where you are.  It's about who you are.

Some people can be bored an unhappy in NYC - others can be happy an fulfilled in a pokey little country town.

There is heaps to do and see - friends to make, a community to engage with and another culture to explore.  If you are bored it's gonig to be your own fault.

Are you a happy and outgoing person where you are now?  If so dont worry you'll be fine.
