I am curious about the IT dept in Citibank, I heard they have an impressive setup but have never see any recruitment ads. I am an oracle guy always looking for a challenge. Do they outsource, are they recruiting? Anyone know?

Thanks

Stay away from Citibank  - worse place in the world I have ever worked!

They actually have the highest turnover of staff amongst all financial MNC's.

They tend to bring the majority of senior staff in from the US, UK and Australia, that way they get to keep them there for up to 2 years at least.

The world is filled with ex-Citibankers and I am amongst them.  My time there was OK but lots and lots... most leave after about 2 yrs or so.  At least the people who do "banking" do not sure about IT or the bean counter types.  It is a high pressure environment and the goal is to make money; lots of it.  I am glad I was there but would never go back.

I'd like to differ.

Citibank Corporate / Global is not for everyone. Yes, pressure is high, but rewards are there.

Competition is high, so politics is natural. But for high achievers, that is your company of choice.

How come I never see IT jobs being advertised  by Citibank - if they are one of the biggest IT depts, and have a high turnover, how do they recruit?  Or have the outsourced?
Im not put off by the high turnover, being an  ambitious contractor its just what Im looking for for a couple of years.
