My wife has recieved a job offer in Singapore. I am trying to find out what is required to obtain a work permit for myself.

I am a freelance photographer so in essence I would be running my own business. Are there any special requirements/procedures for starting a business?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

If your wife accepts the position, her company should first sponsor you for a dependent pass. Then when you get here, you can explore a variety of options depending on whether or not you want to establish a business operation or work under the employment limitations of the dep. pass. You can only apply for a work permit or employment pass if you have an employer .. so starting your own business would be a different category. But you can sort that out when you arrive.

Somewhere in FAQ on this site there should be the website for all this info from Ministry of Manpower but I'll be darned if I can remember what it is .. maybe www.mom.gov.sg  or something!
