Some of the bigger multi nationals here are trying to promote work life balance and apply flexibility to the work place with pretty good success.....the company I work for has implemented many top notch HR policies to get the best out of thier people without the need for 'face/desk time'....many locals choose to work from home too and spend more time with their families.....

In UK there's a loudspeakers manufacturer, B&W (maybe you know it)... A hi-fi magazine send a man there, visiting.
A photo shows an electronic board, with traget, actual and percents done for a certain product. Before ending the job they had 106% productivity. That means extra money...
