Hi

Is there any French out there who is still contributing to the French Social Security while working in Singapore? How do you allow them to deduct money from your account to contribute to the social security? From your Singapore Bank account or French Bank account? I cannot find any local Singapore bank that supports the function.

HSBC now owns CCF in France, may be it helps ? We contribute to CFE, and pay by check out of our french bank account. This account is at Banque Transatlantique, which has an agreement with HSBC that makes funds transfers quick and smooth.

Thanks for the reply.

From your posting, it seems that you are still paying thru your French account. Am I right? I had asked HSBC but they said that they cannot allow a foreign entity to deduct money from the Singapore account. Therefore, we have to pay thru our BNP account, and then remit money into the BNP account from our Singapore account.

Why would you want to do that anyway ?

If you ever return to France just
register at the ANPE and you will be
automatically registered "a la securite social"

Two reasons (whether good or bad): CFE is a health insurance applicable to medical expenses in Singapore, and it also enables you to remain within the french retirement system.
