I had my PR application rejected. I have submitted an immediate appeal.  Would appreciate feedback on the success/failure matter on such an issue.  TQ

Any particular reason for the decline? What about any additional document/reasons that you have submitted to ICA? Cheers

hope all are fine or PR will be approved soon, seriously.

I can feel how it is as being PR rejected as Singapore is a very strict place. no PR, might be tough.

I should have a job offer soon.  With that I will be applying for PR too.  Could you please share how your applications got rejected??  And what are the reasons from the officials???

Thanks and good luck,

have a job here? is it a reasonabley executive position? do you have a clean record from your home country? any debts? committed any offense here in singapore? these will all contribute to a rejection. some people may not know this, but if you don't have a university degree, you may also get rejected.

hi all,
thanks to your reply.  that is a great input.  two things here:
1.  is the ICA or the officer will tell us 'the reason' if it is rejected??
2.  are you saying they have the capability of checking the applicant's background, such criminal record, credit/debt records??

thx so much for your response and kindness.

I am wanting to submit for an appeal.
What reasons should I  use?  Do I have to write a full page story on my economical and social contributions to Spore ?? Pls assist.  Thanks in advance.

Hi,

You got to remember that every appeal you make will put you back to 6 months, before you could re apply.
Note: The Interval to re apply a PR application is 6months from the date of final rejection. No matter it is rejected through a fresh application or an appeal.

Well, about reason for rejections, generally they will not provide you with reasons of rejection but for some cases they will provide.

They may ask you to apply after 1 year or 18months or so. This message will be generally in the rejection letter.

The bottom line is if your salary is good enough to support yourself and your dependants then I dont see a reason for rejection, provided you meet all other criterias (clean record, uni degree etc).

While applying for an apeal it would be truly helpful if your financial status or job status had substantially improved. Example: you were promoted from a Senior executive to a Manager with a flashy or considerable amount of salary hike.

If you apeal without any substantial development or improvement in your career or salary then you just wasted 1 to 3 month/s to listen the same reply.

However, the secret to get a PR is to keep trying.

Good Luck.

If you don't get a PS with "try again in 18 months" or something, does that mean you're a hopeless case??

Don't have criminal record, debts, any of that.  But don't have a degree either and over 50   - do they think I'm too old?

Me Too,

If you don't get a PS with "try again in 18 months" or something, does that mean you're a hopeless case??------ It may mean that they are not keen to ask you to apply again. However, they wont avoid you from applying again after some time (6months). Your re application should have a positive curve in your career and or financial status. If you donot have a degree, that should not bother you from applying..... a good skill, with a good pay + good post should win you a PR.

Coming to the age part hmm....50 is a quite difficult question to answer, I am not sure but got to be honest. I have not heared from anyone who got a PR at the age of 50s... May be I am wrong, others please help me if you know such cases.

However the age should not matter, if this govt thinks that they need your skills, your experience and maturity.

got some money..?? invest in some company get a Enter pass---> get EP-----> run the business with a good profit----> PR will be on your way....it will take some time

"Patience has its own fruits, but only the wearer knows where his shoes bite"

Hope I was helpful.

Good Luck.

Can the political issue like race plays a pertinent part in the PR appeal?  Based on what I have read from the forum, it seems to indicate that Singapore being a Chinese majority country tend to favour the race.  I could be wrong.

May be true,

But still other races do get their PR approvals.

If you belong to other races, of course the road to PR would not be a cake walk.

Your PR approval depends on your skills, talents, credentials and contributions to the country.

Keep trying and you may get it one day or the other.

Good Luck

congratulations Old Mike, there's hope for us all.

Be interested to know, if it's not a personal question, if you are married to a Singaporean or have kinship ties here.  My understanding is that kinship ties does help.
