OM said "no ties" not "not married".  You can be married to other nationalities you know.  And you can be not married too of course.

I was 53 when I got my PR.

I was also retired and my wife was not working either.

My wife is Singaporean though.

Gonna be interesting when my renewal comes up in a couple of years.

When I said no ties, I meant no Singaporean relatives.

hmm.. just wondering... if you marry a sporean PR, would that entitle you to have a PR by default (well, surely u still have to apply etc)??

in Canada, if you marry a canadian PR, u can do a spousal sponsorship and it's guaranteed to get (unless u have a criminal record, HIV, or that kinda ugly things)... how is it in spore??

maybe it helps the readers if you could tell how ur PR application got rejected. was it a spousal sponsorship? was it under professional skilled worker??

thanks

Ditto... Sad

Just received my PR rejection last week..

I am a University degree holder, and my school is actually one of the accredited schools here in Singapore...

Though I think the weak part of my application is that:

a.) I am handling S Pass
b.) I applied my PR on my 9th month stay in my current job, meaning my 9th month stay in Singapore as well...

Question, On my letter I am not sure if it is a general explanation that ICA made careful consideration on my application looking at the changes of residential period (what does this mean???) during the whole 9 months I did not leave SG, another factor is financial stability (I think it is about my salary, since I'm handling S Pass my basic salary is $1.8 but my job entitles me with commission) and lastly is CONDUCT (this I cannot understand...so far, I don't think I did anything wrong with regard to my stay here...did not do any exit just to extend my stay, no rejections with my EPEC prior, no rejections with my first S Pass application, I'm actually looking at staying here for long time since I started investing thru AIA, joined clubs/social organizations -> onePA, NTUC Club, etc.)

So that's why I have a big question in mind why?Huh?

I hope someone can enlighten me with some facts that would help me out....

that doesn't make me feel comfortable at all. How long did u apply..it's been almost 3 months to the day for me and I haven't heard anything.  Did they notify you by mail or email?

I am wondering if they are just trying to get people to leave the country, thin it out a bit in the hopes of having companies hire more Singaporeans.
