I am currently working for a company in SG,
my EP expire in one year.

I want to leave my company and work freelance from home (I do web design).
I got already some prospects in Australia, USA, UK who wants to buy my services.

What's the procedure if I want to remain in SG and work freelance from home.

If I leave my company I will loose my EP and would have to leave Singapore within one month.

Now can I get an EP if I want to set up my small shop here (home based, all work will be done remotly)
How can I be a sole proprietor ?

Please help me, the company I work for is
so lame, I need to make a move ASAP.

BTW, My boss is a real asshole and he's reading this board, so please help I cannot stand working for this moron anymore ...

Try applying for a PR you will then
be able to set up a company as a sole proprietor.

I was also once fed up with my boss.

Knowing that you have no one above you who
constantly check on what you're doing give
you a great sense of freedom.

But it's sure hard work but it's always
more rewarding than working for someone else.

I wish you all the best with your freelancing!

EASY:

First you need to apply for EP approval in Principle (if you are still working then you will need letter form your employer allowing you to set up your own business). Otherwise you need to resign first then go for EP in principle. This is based on your plan to set up your own business.

Choose carefully whether you want to set up business or company. My advise for what you want to do is business.

Once you have the approval, you apply to set up your own business and register a name (that's supposed to take 2 days).

Then once business is set up you apply for an EP employing yourself....et voila...

YOu need to have a detailed business plan with planned income. If you already have some freelance work line up it will help..

Good luck
