If it is a contract job - you will need to negotiate this into your contract.  13th month is not standard.

Thanx 'where got'.. thanx 'Singapore Girl'.. for enlightening me in time.. as i im desperate to knw the answer cos need to respond by this afternoon.. i dont really knw much abt contract job.. i'll heed ur advice and try to negotiate abt the 13th month pay.. i wonder if the chance v. slim??

it is right that 13 months salary is not a norm in a contract jobs unless your emplyer is generous. but the salary scale of a contract worker in most cases is more than in a permanent job. in permanent job there is more benefits. so you have to talk to your emplyer

Instead of a 13 month bonus in your 'contract', most reputable firms will sign you up with an 'end of project' bonus in order to ensure that you finish off the work as per your contract and not 'disappear' on the last month of your contract in order to start a new one.
