Whilst I was in the UK I helped a friend set up a series of workshops on Operational Risk within the banking sector.  and there is now a special forum on this:
http://www.orrf.org/orrf_corre/

I actually know nothing about banking as my interest and background is in publishing and storage of information valuable to people in a variety of fields
Now, I have been asked if there is much interest in Singapore in developing workshops/conferences on this topic.

I think meetings are being organised in London, NY and Tokyo. I recently attended the first meetings in London and NY and both had a very good turn out although I did not understand much of what was going on!

Is there anyone on these threads who could give me some advice on the banking community here and possibly put me in touch with people who may be interested in this topic?

Nope not me. I am in the business but cannot see anything of interest to anyone who has any clue of what is going on.

Try the Association of Banks in Singapore, the local trade association. They're pretty good and all the major local and foreign banks are members - 224 4300.
