A US company hired me from Hong Kong through its branch in Singapore and placed directly in the headquater in the USA for training (1-2 years). At the end of the training, I will be moving to Singapore to work in its branch company. The formal employment contract was signed between me and the singapore company and I am getting paid in SGD (monthly transferred to my Hong Kong Bank aco****). The company applied for an EP for me in Singapore, and after 10 months with the company, I made a trip to Singapore to pick up my EP. I am a Hong Kong resident. My question is: should I pay the tax in Singapore?

Suggest your company should look in to this for you, this could get complicated. But I think as you are in US you are bringing earning in to that country regardless of where you are being paid from.

Also depends how long you spent in each country as I am not sure whether there is the 183 day rule for US

Also you may have to pay tax in both countries in which case Singapore tax would be the lower option I think.

This needs advice from the relevant tax authorities in both countries.
