why don't you do a search for jobs on jobsdb.com.sg and search for accountants.

considering that you will be paid local wages and in the current climate, 3k is worth going back to work for.

Are you quoting Singapore dollars as that's only $36,000 per annum for someone who's got a degree and studied for years to get accounting qualifications?   There are plenty of qualified accountants here so unless you've got some specialist skills to offer, I'd be surprised that they'd employ an expat.

Take it!

I’m a foreigner but on a local contract and get 3k a month too. Btw I’m working as an Accounts Manager. I think its still better than sitting at home...

I would've thought that a MNC would pay a fully qualified accountant more than that, but it depends on your job description and how near to the top you are in the accounts heirachy.
Is it a MNC or a small local company?
Would you be expected to work [or should I say be seen to be in the office] for ridiculously long hours?  Is there chance for promotion?
At least it will keep you up to date in your field, and look better on your cv than a blank space for a few years.

Well if you're that desperate to work, the money should not be a big issue, surely? Why don't you give it a try and see how you feel 3 months down the line? Also, remember your tax burden will be much less than most countries overseas.

It's not that easy to get a decent job as an expat, so congratulations.

thanks all for your reply. I have a degree in Finance, but no accounting experience. so it seems like an reasonable offer. Company is a reasonable size Telco MNC.

I just called agency to accept the role.
HAPPY TO GET OUT OF HOUSE FINALLY!!!

Go for it.  You haven't got anything to lose and it'll stop the little grey cells from drying up.
