Advice me on change of employer

hi everyone

Come this Jan i'll be completing my two years in S'pore , I'm here working on a Q1 EP for the same employer all these years.

Now i've got an reasonable offer(40% hike in pay) from one of the post-secondary edu institutions, under MOE.

For the new job, there'll be a change in my designation. Can anyone suggest me your views on my new EP approval, is it certain to get approved?

Meanwhile as my EP is expiring soon, my present company applied for a renewal and few days back it was approved, i'll be getting the chop only in Jan, if i have to.

I'm kinda worried to take risk to change employer as I have a big,big family back home depending on me. Had i got the offer before my renewal application  is submitted I'd have taken it without any hesitations.

Anyone came across similar situations? I've around 10 days to decide.And kinda feeling pretty low.

My suggestion is to contact - Contact Singapore - www.contactsingapore.org.sg  - they are a Singapore government funded organisation and they can indicate whether you would get an employment pass renewal. Suggest you visit their office asap.

Hi advice !
I would like to know that how much time did it took you to get an Q type work visa...coz, I have an offer of Job from singapore and they said that they have filed my papers for work permit...Now its been 1 and half months and he has only taken my Resume and Passport photocopy...I would like to know what the process is and how much time does it takes from the govt. to approve..and also what is the basic salary in singapore for a sales person in a Electronics Showroom in wholesale segment or any min salary rules in singapore...pls..help and reply pls.
