Errr, Aliya/ Monique/ Melissa, are you aware that most of the dogs that the rescue groups here have are NOT "good well bred dogs with no genetic problems" (sic)? That many have been scrounged from god-knows-where, some are puppy mill dogs, and nearly are hardly the products of a carefully considered breeding programme?
Do you know, Aliya, that if you ask a rescue group whether their large dog has been tested for HD or elbow displasia, that they don't know because they never bothered to find out?
Btw, forget cocker spaniels. The type you see here is the strictly show type- narrow headed, bug eyed, and that godawful yip and yap. None of the smarts of the field strain type to boot.
And Aliya, are you aware that the adoption agencies are VERY careful in letting you know that adopted/rescued/rehomed dogs have an UNKNOWN genetic and health background? Seems to me that they are covering their ass*s.
Consider a dog from the classifieds. Many of them were well loved once and have been well taken care of. They make great pets and deserve a new home. Besides, their owners are so desperate to get rid of them that you can name your price.
Were you the one who posted here about getting a petshop beagle?
