Yes, I agree, and should have put SPCA in the basket of places to look, I just assume that most people use that as their starting point so did not.   The SPCA does a wonderful job and have so many dogs pass through each month.   Given dogs at the SPCA have a much higher chance of being put down I would start my search with the SPCA at the same time as the other rescue organisations.

Nigel has a daughter?  Wow.  I understand he is still up for adoption, so if anyone is looking for a pug, please contact ASD for this lovely elderly gent.

Neevbe, as you were also interested in a terrier, I suggest you do some research on beagles, they are dogs for people who have had dogs before really or who can tolerate a very active dog!

So much info on a little post!  Thanks for all the chat!

Well, the dog bit me today when I was trying to get it out of it's hiding place.  I know it is just not happy and I am really sorry that I can't keep it.  She is just really homesick and I think it's too much going from  a grandma taking care of it like an infant, being fed rice and getting her feet cleaned when she comes in from her walk (it's really cute) to 3 little boys wanting to pet her and play with her all the time. I feel really bad, because I don't want granny to be pulled over by her, so anyone else wanting to adopt, this dog is really cute and clean!  I found her on a 3rd party adoption page, her name is Nikko.  She's a bit subborn, she wants to go her own way, but she is cute, and I do think she would be a good pet for someone with older kids, or older people.  She is very strong.  Sorry Nikko!

I haven't checked out the SPCA yet, will head there on Monday with the crew and see what we can find!  Thanks for all the input...will keep you posted!!!
