I am wanting to buy a good quality kid's carseat. Ideally a booster seat (full back) that has a 5 point harness system that can later by converted to a basic seatbelt system, suitable for a 3-4 year old.

Ideally also has a bolt system to attach t the headrest area e.g. US / Austr. style.

Anyone have one for sale??

Mothercare sells under their house brand a high back booster seat. Problem is though it looks initially as a high back, the car's own safety belt is adjusted by "patch" on the tummy of your child that pulls away the belt from the child's face. If you read the instructions carefully, you must detach the back once your child is 7+, making it a ordinary booster seat. Big plus: the price, only SGD66.

We settled for the Recaro Start (have a look at www.recaro.com,  child safety). Yes the same co that makes the aeroplane seats and race car seats.

This highback booster seat will really grow with your child. It is very comfy and solid at a hefty 8kg. Because what they did is make a metal frame which will absorb the forces in an accident. You can adjust the width of shoulders, length of seat to length of your child's leg and you move the back according to your child's height to adjust the belt positioner.

We bought ours here in Singapore, where it apperently is cheaper than in Germany. Don't be put off by the price tag (SGD 375 18 months ago), but on a monthly basis assuming you use it till they are 10 years (it can last that long), it is peanuts. You can also contact the Recaro agent here in Singapore, Mr. Ron Spicer at gvmktg@pacific.net.sg to see if he still has the model car seat at his office for you to see and try out before deciding to buy it.

I noticed that most people use the booster seat sans back, but new regulations in EEC require a real highback booster now because of safety.
