Just delivered my first chld and can't praise Thomson Medical Centre enough, if anyone's looking. It's a motherchild hodpital so compared to gleaneages I'm told it's much warmer and cheerful (not cold and clinical and hostpial like).

the nurses are top rate: friendly, cheerful but most importantly very spportive. I styaed longer than the standard 2 days because my baby had some jaundice and during that time I made sure I leanred as many tips as possible from the nureses, watched what they did and let them watch me. Gave me so much confidence to go home.

SInce cvoming back I've called their 24-hour nursery on various questions -- this is the after care service the offer.

Also had a senior staff nurse come to train my maid to bath the baby etc. ad she ran through baby massage again. (they not only run quite useful prenatal classes, they also have additional free daily classes while you're staying there) I peppered her with all sorts of questions and felt so much better after talking to her. For that session (probably over an hour), she just charged $40 and I gave her a taxi tip.

Hey, New Mum! Who was your ob/gyn? I'm not too happy with mine and I'm due in late May.

MaryD, don't know what your criteria is of obstet because mine is a lovely lady but SO-O-O busy that every appointement means at least an hours wait, even if you arrive early! And then I'm in and out in about 10 mins!! I had a good pregnancy and delivery and post-op so I didn't require that much patient care and TLC

New Mum,
Mine's a lady doc too; also very nice and very busy. I don't need a lot of TLC but I do need to feel confident in her abilities and right now I'm not. Do you have a name and phone number for your doc you could post or e-mail me? Would be much appreciated. Cheers!

MaryD, WK Tan at WC Cheng & Assoc is in her 50s so extremely experienced, both with Asians and Caucasians. Good luck
