I'm about to move there...just want to know if the following things are available there:
-Claritin non-drowsy allergy pill?
-Gillet clear-gel anti-perspirant (for my hubby)
-Colgate extra whitening toothpaste.
-and since were prohibited from chewing gum, is there Listerine mint films?

Claritin - seen it advertised
Gillet - seen it in Cold Storage (not sure if it is clear-gel)

Can't help with the others, sorry.

Certainly the Colgate toothpaste (and most, if not all 'major' brands) is widely available, as are many, many Mint products!  Again, names big and small - don't think you'll have an issue.

All of the Gillette products are here, too.

Claritin is marketed here under the name Clarityne, and requires a prescription. I would recommend bringing a supply with you, and when you get sorted out, get a prescription for it and it's easily obtainable.
Same goes for many other over-the-counter meds including pain killers .. i.e. there is no Advil or Extra Strength Tylenol .. anything considered 'western extra strength' would require a prescription

Don't worry about buying things here. Even if they don't have your favourite brand here there are lots of others. In S'pore we have access to a lot of Aussie products too.

The Pharmicist at Guardian pharmacies can "prescribe" meds like claritine for you so its not necessary to see a doc for many things although there is NO neosporin ointment or other antibiotic topical products sold over the counter.  Stock up and bring with anything you need.  Anything can be found here but not always with regularity.  When moving here a friend who had lived here spoke of the pretzel boat as in she found pretzels with great regularity for a few months then couldn't find them for several more untill the pretzel boat got here with a new delivery.  That is the most frustrating thing about livving on an island....count count on things being there always like in a big country.  In short bring over a healthy supply with you of pain meds, claritin etc.  Makes life easier and more fun.  But it's great here!

You may find that allergies are less common here due to the climate and lack of pollen, and Claratin is easily available at the cost of approx 1$ per tablet.
Have you considered using a preventer nose spray?

You're not actually prohibited from chewing gum, it's just not sold here.  Plenty of people do in fact chew gum brought in from other countries during travel, home leave etc. And it's readily available just over the causeway in Malaysia. If there's a certain brand you like I suggest you bring your own, there are no restrictions on bringing in  chewing gum for personal use .

To Hayfever...Some peoples allergies actually become worse in Singapore; I guess it depends what you're allergic to...there are different grasses and pollens (believe it or not) and plenty of moulds around to aggravate sensitive people.

Thanks to all...
Despite the absence of pollen, I do think I am allergic to moulds and dust, when I was there briefly in December, I did suffer from allergies.
And thank God I can chew gum there in private.
I've been chewing here like crazy thinking I'll never chew gum again once I step into SIN.
By the way, how do people take care of their breaths there after meals if they can't chew gum?

We brush our teeths regularly to maintain our dental hygiene. Chewing gum isn't the only way. Always more than 1 way to skin a cat

Advil/Ibuprofen isn't available over the counter here, either.

I noticed that toothpastes in Singapore do not come in that handy stand up dispenser but only in tubes. I don't like replacing the caps......
