First, let me apologize for asking the fifty millionth salary question on this board. I have been offered a job that pays S$90,000. The expat package is free schooling and housing at a discounted rate where I only pay $800 a month. My question is, can a family of four (with a 6 and 3yr old) live off of this on just one salary? My wife wants to work, but I don't want to count on it in case there is a problem with her finding a job (she has no degree). My job will be a net loss in our household income when my wife quits her work (-US$15,000). Thanks alot. Any response will be great!

Yea, you'll do OK.  Make sure you get the taxes straightened out before you go, so you don't get double taxed.  You will probably have to do some looking if you are planning on having a car.  You are looking at $1500-3000 per month to lease one.

I think you could live off this, esp. with your rent contribution capped at $800... depending on what your allowance would be for the rest.  Our car, although it's just a mazda 323 and is 7 years old, costs $600 a month and gets us around just fine.  Mind you, find out what it will cost to send your 6 year old to school.

As mentioned previously cost of car, medical and schooling should be factored in....considering the salary you mentioned you should be saving at the end of the day and substantially. Welcome!!
