does anyone know anything about getting your cat 'chipped' to take back to the UK? I'll not be going back for another year or so and I know theoretically its possible, although I had heard in practice its easier to get a refugee into the country than an animal. Has anyone tried it here? Can you recommend a vet? Any thoughts gratefully received.

I had mine chipped in the UK but you can get it done here. I can recommend the vet at Namly Animal Clinic off Sixth Avenue. Dr Ling was trained in Bristol, is very personable, good with the animals and very up on entry requirements for most places. She even checked my cats chips were working when I said I had never seen them checked after they were done in England. (Tel 469 4744). She  even has surgeries on Sunday mornings and evening sessions Monday, Wednesday and Friday
