The most important thing is that if you are a US citizen you don't entirely dissolve your US tax liability.

You still may be liable for tax in the US...check it out

US has worldwide tax rules so you will have to submit your annual tax forms whether or not you have earnings/property etc in US.
We have US green cards and live here but my husband is still paid in US Dollars to our US bank account and we still pay loads of tax. It does help to keep green card though. My husbands employers moved us here for a "temporary period". We would do better to taka a local package and pay local taxes but if we do that our green card will disappear in a puff of smoke.
We also have to make regular trips back there, so we spend quite a bit on airfares,(no fun flying economy back to SFO with a toddler) and INS always check to see how long we have been out of the US for. Think very carefully before you give up your green card. I would be wantng a very large compensation amount to have to hand it back and certainly a good salary whilst I was here to make it worthwhile. After all the hassle you will have gone through trying to get the green card in the first place, I would be loathe to give it up for just an OK job/salary in Singapore.
