hi,
i have read a lot of the postings on here, but they dont seem to apply to me, so sorry to repeat the same old questions.

i am being relocated to singapore (by myself), and am being offered S$85K. I will be paying for accomodation. What sort of lifestyle will this enable me to have? I have read that apartments can be very expensive, etc.

Thanks a lot.

reckless,

'appartments can be very expensive' - it all depends what and where you're looking for. How many bedrooms, which type of facilities, which area? What are the priorities for you when selecting your accommodation? What is expensive for you?

Also, what kind of lifestyle do you lead? Do you go out a lot, want to travel etc. etc.? Generally I would say that as a single person, you should be able to enjoy quite a nice lifestyle here with that offer. From which part of the world are you relocating to Singapore?

Many questions, so maybe if you can give a few more details it would be easier to help.

Hi Reckless,

I'm in the same position as you are - I live as a single in Singapore. I live a bit outside of the city, off Bukit Timah in a nice condo. With that salary you should have no problems whatsoever, unless you intend to live extremely extravagantly.

I have a two bedroom flat, I have a cleaning person come in once a week and I only travel by taxi. So I'd say not to worry.

Oh, and I go out for dinner about twice a week and on occasion I go away for the weekend. My salary is approximately the same as yours will be and it's possible to save a bit on the side.
