When a company contract states that they will meet the rental/car and schooling costs. Is the employee liable for tax on these expenses or is the employer.  I am unable to find out any information on this using the inland revenue web site.  I was of the opnion that tax would be borne by the employee on earned income and bonus.

Well, unless your contract states specifically that the employer bears the tax levied on you for car and school, you are responsible.

When the company pays for various things other than your salary, as far as IRAS is considered, it is still your compensation and you are liable for tax for them.

I am 99% sure you are paying for the taxes.  If an employer pays tax for an employee, things get messy as a "tax-on-tax" issue surfaces, so no one does that in practice.
