Try Meyer Road on the East Cost. Offers many of the advantages of Tanjung Rhu but it is not as isolated and taxis are dead easy to get (except when you really, really want one, but that is true everywhere isn't it?). The apartment buildings are not all as shiny and new as the Tanjung Rhu area apartments, but they are often bigger and cheaper. You can get Bus Plus into the CBD in the mornings.
