That's not true...it depends on which city...don't make incorrect comments. Also apartments with pools in the CBD vary too according to which CBD!! Please Sydney is not the capital of Australia!!

It's always interesting to see how a topic/question can metamorphose into a tit-4-tat playground (notr that it happens 100% of the time).

SoSo, Can - salient thoughts. Some expats come here to upgrade on their lifestyle - that may seem natural for them. Others come here on a "plateau" lifestyle ie roughly the same standard of living. And their are various others.

All i can say is that it would be pleasant to live on a 12k/month package.

What you need to look at are the expenses you will incur. If you have children there are far more considerations - apart from medical and school fees as mentioned there is school bus, school uniform etc. I think you'd be surprised by the cost of a school bus per month. More people to consider and more costs are involved. I'd also be inclined to look into the medical insurance despite that some people think you don't need it. What medical services and injections that may be free in your country are not here. This does not mean it isn't a good salary however if you are still negotiating...........
