Try there web sites to get specifics- but I'd say $10000 -$15000 per year plus uniform($400) plus bus($300 per month) Plus a huge deposit of $5000 with conditions(you must give x number of days notice to be able to get it back!!).

At secondary level, I've been paying more like SDG 20 - 30,000. It's a killer if your company doesn't help!

At the Australian School fees are $3600 per term (4 terms) at Primary. Add around $300 per term for the bus and $500 for uniforms. Hence around $16000 per year per child. At secondary termly fees go up to $4200 I believe.
I think the American School, Tanglin etc are more than AIS.

Absolutely not-we would be so deep in debt we'd have to go home-our last posting was in a developing country and international schooling was around US$15000 per year and kindergarten/preschool was around US$1500 per term and gee weren't we shocked but glad our child wasn't school age. I think you'll find as a foreigner there is a $5000 fee for local schooling-but don't quote me on that. Some people have such huge salaries it doesn't matter or like us it is part of the package.

Unfortunately, absolutely yes...but the son has had a good time - he's happy, even if Mum is broke. There are pros and cons to everything, but I'm sure I don't need to tell you that.

My husband's salary wouldn't pay for the cost of education and living for three kids so this was something we had sorted out before we came- if I was willing to work and get a maid for child care, which I am not, we would be able to pay school fees. There have been other posts which indicate local schooling is good and an option- something worthwhile to look at. I am sure expat parents would be able to tell you of their experiences and costs in this area. For one of our children local schooling would not be an option but this is a long winded story that probably doesn't have relevance here. If your children are confident English speakers I'd say local schooling would be fine and equal to an international school-in my opinion an international school charges higher than private school education for something that is not.

Local schooling is a good option. Kids learn alot and the cost is relatively low - SD90/mo. plus, I can't recall exactly, a one time payment of 2 or 3k. Books are about SD150/yr and uniforms about SD30/yr.
Local schools are agressive, pushing hard in math and English vocabulary and spelling. However, with a positive attitude, kids shouldn't have too much trouble.
