Does anyone know where I can purchase a NTSC TV and VCR here?
I brought tapes from the US recorded on extended play, and when I play it on multi system...the speed is twice as fast. Any recommendations from anyone?
Or are there multi system vcrs that will be able to adjust speed?

Since you want to play tapes that have been recorded in longplay mode, you might want to get yourself a VCR that can handle LP. Also, as far as I know, most TVs and VCRs available in S'pore are capable to play PAL as well as NTSC.

Also, has anyone had problemes with their VCR recording? All the wires are connected as correctly as I can tell from the directions! (Ususally I just connect everything, but this time I actually consulted the directions which makes it eeven more frustrating!!) However, it does not record programs from the TV. ANy ideas what the prob could be?

Oh...and does anyone know where can I buy a VCR head cleaner? Not the useless dry ones, but the kind with the little dropper and all?

thanks!

So Teddy,
You mean there are multi-system VCR's that can handle LP or EP VHS tapes?
I'll be on the lookout then.

Yep, lots of VCRs are able to handle LP recorded tapes. Mine is one of them, but actually I never use that function anyway :-) The movie quality gets poorer when you're using longplay to record.

Oh yeah, and I forgot an important recommendation from lots of experience: if you buy a VCR, try to go for one of these brands: Panasonic, Panasonic or Panasonic.
They are using the best drives available (the tape winding speed is more than amazing!) and the usability and overall quality will definitely satisfy.
Of course, you might also consider Panasonic though.
Well, just a tip

There are some good electronics shops in the Fu Lu Shou complex near to Bugis MRT.

I got a 6 head, multi system, all the bells and whistles AKAI for 230 bucks.

Much cheaper than Sim Lim and worth an 80c MRT ride !!
