I am planning to move to S'pore in Mid December to take up an Expat Assignment. My employer has told me they will get a temporary employment pass when I arrive and then apply for a regular EP. My question is, if I do not have the temporary EP in my possession upon my arrival in S’pore and do not have an outbound ticket will Immigration let me into S’pore?

SIR wouldn't let you in. The return ticket is a key requirement for entry into Singapore. When you attempt to enter Singapore, you will be asked to produce it as well as declare how much money you are carrying (to ensure that you have enough funds for your visit). If the immigration officer is satisfied, you will most likely be given a 2 week social visit pass to get your affairs in order.

I  can't agree with what cs wrote above - I have entered the country many times without a ticket on.   The only time I was every questioned was at the BA check-in desk at Sydney.  Once I showed them a credit card (to prove I could afford to leave the country) it was fine.  I wouldn't worry about it.

I agree with Emma.  Although a return ticket is useful (and is open for a long time to use later), you can get the 30 days stamp no worries until you're sorted.

Enjoy - it's a great place!

Emma

The info is taken off the SIR web site.

You might not get hassled but why take chances?

I think what you would do is enter as a tourist in the normal way, and THEN get your temp employment pass from the SI building. Then later you can get a long term one.
