I went to Singapore three times so far but always for about 3-4 weeks only. During my stays, I was mostly ok with the climate. Since I wanna move from Germany to S'pore in a couple of months, I wonder if any of you people had problems coping with the climate in the long run. Maybe things like sudden fainting and constant sleep deprivation will only come up after some time of living there? :-)
Would love to hear your personal experiences and maybe some tips.

It took me 3 months to start to be able to operate fairly normally.  If you move from Aircon appartment, to aircon car to aircon workplace to aircon gym to aircon amll it's no big deal.  I have no aircon at home and the first few weeks were pretty bad ... like very poor sleep ... now i'd say i'm totally acclimatised and although i'm now having an appartment with aircon i never use it and prefer a fan at night.  If you use aircon you really won't acclimatise fully.  But i would say it takes 3 months before you can exercide like jogging cycling with any degree of vigour outdoors.  Be prepared to drink alot of water to avoid dehaydration.  Even locals feel the heat and you see that their lifestyles have adapted to compensate.

Hi Teddy,

We've been living here for about 4 months.
The weather has been okay for us, the kids took some time getting used to it. Almost all the places are air-conditioned makes living here a lot easier. If you have kids they would love running around in their shorts and enjoying the sun .Our 3 year old thinks he's on holiday   every single day. You'll get used to it, only takes a few weeks.

Good luck and give us a shout when you get here.

Having lived in the tropics most of my life, let me tell you:  when the heat gets too much, you NEVER get used to it.
But yeah you could get functional after a couple of months.
Cold beers and clothes with minimal material always help (now how do I get the smiley face with sun-glasses???)
