Has this ever happened to anyone else?

I have applied for an EP for myself and for a DP for my wife.
My EP has just been approved, but my wife's DP has been rejected, as always, without giving any reasons.

I can't believe this!

There have been lots of exchange programs between my German company and the Singapore subsidiary. But, never has a DP been rejected before.

There are only a few things that I can think of that could be a "reason" for rejecting the DP:
- she has a daughter that lives with her first husband
- she's Austrian

Does anyone know what we can do now?

That is bizarre. Unless the company are paying you a pittance or unless she's been her before and left in mysterious circumstances then the only reason will be something to do with a defect in the application itself rather than any problems, assuming you are actually married.

if your company has an HR department locally, send them down to the immigration department, take a number and argue the toss.

I would feel 99% certain that they would relent.

I would advise u to go and pay a personal visit to Immigration with your company's HR or a local Singaporean to appeal, believe me it should work. Sometimes, u just get this government people getting out on the wrong side of the bed. Ask to see the officer, u'll have no problem. Good luck.
