I know that Sing govt has certain requirement for using cordless phone here (i.e you can only use cordless phones which operate below a certain frequency, can't remember what). I believe it is the same thing too for other electronic/electrical devices.

Can anyone help?

newman2 look in the archive as it has been discussed at length previously and what I gathered is leave it at home to avoid fines and but another as they are rather inexpensive...I think thats how the discussion went but it archived.

Dont bother is my opinion, I did although I come from the UK and it didnt work. Electrical goods here are quite reasonable so no major worries!

New Man 2

We brought over a Fax machine and Cordless phone from Australia both work but as they say in Australia if it fries your house and not Austel approved your liable. But we are not talking about a back yard special both of ours were panasonics and have not problems. Telco's are 100% standardised, just be careful with modems in the realms of redial features some countries will allow up to six redials mostly only three.

But in a nutshell "No Problems".

This is a note I found from PaulN

900 Mhz phones here are illegal. They operate in the same frequency as the handphones. If you use one, you can be fined up to S$10,000. As this story illustrates, the network engineers can detect you and will report you to the authorities. Unhook them and put them in storage...unless you have alot of spare cash in need of giving away!!!

Thanks a lot. The cordless phones we use here in the US ARE 900 MHz. I will make sure I don't bring them to Singapore. I will also buy my answering machine there too because I don't know if a digital one is approved anyway. It seems most of the electronics in Singapore have good price anyway.
