Compass Rose at the Westin - not the cheapest place in Singapore by a long way but on the 70th floor so great views, good service and excellent food

Paladino Di Firenze at Mohamed Sultan Road...it's a small; cozy, romantic restaurant I would rate  A1...The restaurant's tucked in the middle of the nightspots but those not in the know don't even know it's there...and what lies behind those big closed wooden doors...but when u step in there, u feel as if u are transported to another world.  And the food is just simply unbelievably good.

After dinner u can take hew dancing at Amoebar just across the road.

Then there is Siggi's By the Cliff at Beaufort Sentosa....That would be an experience for her ...a dinner at some "get=away" place...even better if u can stay the nite.  Generally u'll get a very good buffet there...strolling band...alfresco...you get the idea.

Forgot to ask what kind of food she really likes...For Japanese...there's Shima at Goodwood restaurant that I like very much...

And if she wants Chinese but can't stand the usual big Chinese restaurant with many many people talking at loud decibels and having chopsticks go clikety clakety, please take her to Chng Jiang restaurant tucked away inside GoodWood hotel as well...fantastic Peking Duck..to die for...that one a little hard to find..so you'll get what I mean when I say nice, cosy, and romantic.

Lastly...cook.  You know, there's something about my man if he cooks...how bad his cooking may be, but when I see him and all that effort...it really does it for me.

Don't overlook the Compass Rose at the Westin Stamford at night!

Michelangelo's at Chip Bee Garden, opp Holland Village. Had mine there last year. The service staff made me feel really special. Covered the tabletop with rose petals etc. Be sure to tell them it's your galfren's birthday.

Romantic is very nice of you!

well I can think of a lil getaway in the middle of the sea (sentosa or so), spending some candlelight dinner drinking Pina Colada...bunch of roses and some lightening music that you can dance with her!!! Ahem a bottle of champagne pleeeez!

If it's about romance and style, then it has to French!  You really only have two options from here:

Les Amis (Botannical) - nice, but it's a bit 'been there'
Le LÁglidor (Duxton Hotel) - truly sublime food and atmosphere

I'm a bit fan of the Duxton (esp. as at night, there's no use being in the Gardens)! Both are not cheap, but give you the chance to dress up a little and completely pampered your girlfriend.

You definitely have to try:
* La Fete du Cuisinier at Waterloo Street (next to the yellow church)
* L'Angelus at Club Street

Both are at the top-end for food & wine and atmosphere.

I liked Efferus on Club Street. Excellent dishes if you want to break away from monotony and your taste-buds are hungry for fusion/eclectic food.

My suggestion would be Les Amis au Jardin. It's a branch of Les Amis in an old Black and White house in the Botanic Gardens, it's small, the food is French and the best I've had in Singapore. The menu is part fixed, part choice. I think they only do one sitting.

Atmosphere is very romantic, u sit in an enclosed balcony in the trees watching the sunset...

Not cheap, but worth it.
