....but, did u ever pause to think about having to force ur son to do NS and waste 2 years of his life?

Actually, I don't have kids yet but they would be eligible for US citizenship under their mom's passport. As I understand it, chiildren can actually have a dual nationality in Singapore but must chose by their 18th birthday... If, 18 years and nine months from now, there is still compulsory NS, then they can make their own decision.

Not Quite - sons of PRs and citizens are eligible for NS at 16.5 years of age.  Check the ICA website - they cover his in great detail there

What about NS liability ? Are first generation citizens exempt from National service ?
