It's my daughter's birthday soon and we're thinking of getting her a doll's house but I haven't seen any nice ones anywhere.

Has anyone noticed any shops seling the traditional wooden ones?

you could get one made to your own design?

once i was at a friends in usa who had an awesome dollhouse shaped bookcase. i was in love but she said it was from pottery barn and once i looked on the website realised it was way out of my price range. but luckily pottery barn put all measurements on the website. i took a picture along with all measuements to a carpenter and had one made. looked the exact same as the real one my friend had and i saved like $300 usa dollars doing it.

The wooden toy shop in Tanglin or Taka have them, or ELC.

Didn't like the one in Tanglin though the one in ELC may be an option. Have heard about a toy shop in Vivo City with wooden toys. Does anyone know where exactly it is and whether it's likely to stock any?

Thanks...

I bought a wooden Victorian dollshouse for my daughter at a big toy shop in Takashimaya 4th level. I got the basic one (2 floors + the room under the roof) and also the extension (another floor). However, it is just plain wood, so I actually painted it blue and white (and grey for the roof), added some wallpaper and carpets, and now it looks absolutely gorgeous!!

I have also seen quite a nice pink wooden dollshouse in ELC, but it is much smaller than ours.

I think the wooden toy shop in Taka is the same one as in Tanglin - not 100% sure though.

We have the Victorian one, same as the above poster. Everyone comments on how lovely it is, friends/reletives from UK have all raved about it.

Good luck with your search.
