The spices for chai are simply a cardamon pod, a fingernail sized piece of cinamon stick and a clove. Bash them up with a mortar and pestle or stick in a spice grinder and use in your cooking. The instant chai powders are all FOUL an none of them produce chai that even remotely tastes like chai.

It's not cardamon, it's cardamom. I switched off Floyd the other day when he pronounced it cardamon too. It's not that difficult to remember.
