When to apply?

You should apply for an EPEC only when you are ready to come to Singapore. You will still require the relevant visa to enter Singapore (if a visa is required) even if you hold a valid EPEC.

What are the documents required for application?

You will be required to upload the following documents as softcopy attachments upon request :

- a certified true copy of your tertiary academic qualification, transcript or your professional  qualification
- a copy of your passport particulars page
- a recent passport size photo taken within the last three months

Good luck!

I got my EPEC through recently. Found the MOM site and others to be useless in terms of the info you want.

As far as i know the EPEC is valid for 2 years - we are going over in november and got ours already. Not a lot of hassle and very quick. I made sure i provided everything EXACTLY to their spec though - check their FAQ on the EPEC for the dimensions & size of scanned photos etc to send. I figured if you can nail the spec then they've got no reason to delay things.

My turnaround was about a week or so i think.

good luck

Direct from the MoM Website

"Foreigners who wish to spend some time in Singapore to look for a job can apply for the Employment Pass Eligibility Certificate (EPEC). EPEC grants the holder a Social Visit Pass (SVP) valid for up to one year. The EPEC is issued on a one-time basis and is strictly non-renewable."

I think the OP was asking how long the EPEC form is valid for BEFORE you use it to extend your SVP.

The SVP is valid for a year, but the EPEC can be granted and kept for up to 2 years before using it (as far as i know)

Get your EPEC sorted, its one thing out of the way and you dont have to use it within a tight timelimit.

I have sent an e-mail to MOM and it is stated like this:

Any Singapore citizen or PR aged 21 and above could be a local sponsor for your application. Applicants issued with Employment Pass Eligibility Certificate (EPEC) do not require a local sponsor and need not complete Form V39I. For more information on EPEC, you may liaise with Contact Singapore by visiting their website at:
http://www.contactsingapore.org.sg. The EPEC is valid for 2 years and can be used for once only. Within the 2 years, you may visit Singapore to apply for Long-Term SVP with EPEC to look for a job.

So, I assume that you can apply now and when you receive your EPEC, you can go anytime as long as it's not more than 2 years. I don't whether my assumption is correct or not. If I make mistake, hope that anyone will give some correction.
