Hi everyone,

I am coming over to Singapore shortly, and wanted to make sure that Chong Pang (Huh) hawker centre, or one like it, is still up and running.  It was down the road from the Fernleaf centre, in Sembawang.
If anyone can re-assure me that it's still there, I'd really appreciate it.
Thanks

Karl

Sorry to inform you that the hawker centre you are referring to no longer exists. However, don't be alarmed as there are many great hawker centres all over Singapore, including close to where the one in question used to be.

There's a local programme called "Our makan places lost and found" -- and from time to time, they repeat snippets as trailers....anyway, the programme contains some very useful info on where many famous hawkers (and their famous dishes) moved to once their original hawker centres had closed. Keep an eye out for these snippets or for a rerun of the show. People here love their hawker food -- especially the stalls which have stood the test of time and will go all over just to find it.

Yes, it's gone.  I remember it well.   We used to drive 45 minutes from the city just to eat a plate of nasi lemak and seafood.

Anyway, let me what sort of food you like to try, and perhaps I can give you some ideas.
