So, we've had our brand new Elmark ceiling fan for a total of 6 weeks now. The fan worked fine for 2 weeks before the motor blew and it spent 2 weeks in Elmark Memorial Hospital. We were glad to have it back 2 weeks ago, brand new motor and all and today, the brand new motor showed signs of chronic fatigue -- it started slowing down. The ambulance was called and it's gone to intensive care for another 2 weeks. This from a new motor. We walk around with puzzled perplexed expressions and wish to share -- anyone out there applying for a celing fan, please insist on looking at all medical records.

Time to move on now. cool beer awaits.

Commiserations on your misfortune and congratulations on your environmentally-friendly and wise decision otherwise  Smiley It's great that you had the wisdom to install ceiling fans in your house as they are a far cheaper and environmentally friendly way to beat the heat. Except of course, you have apparently chosen the wrong type. I've never used Elmark but have 4 Tamco fans from the shop in Specialist Shopping Centre and they have given me trouble-free hours of cool, as other friends have likewise experienced. Also I have suggested in previous posts, the antique GE fans are similarly a joy to use -- and behold.
