We are moving to Coronation Walk (street next to Coronation Plaza I think) and was wondering if I can walk to above market from there?  Is this the closest wet market around there?

Also is there somewhere we can buy wine/beer by the case or in bulk?  Wouldn't this be cheaper as we might have to abstain god forbid if we have to buy from supermarket on a regular basis!

Many thanks.

It's a good wet market but be careful - I had my wallet stolen there.

Yes you can walk to the wet market from there.  Personally I think Tekka is a million times better though.  You can catch a bus from opposite Coronation Plaza and then taxi home with all your stuff.

Right next to Coronation Plaza is a strip of shops known as the gourmet strip.  It has Choupinette on the corner and includes the cellar door, culina etc.  There is a wine wholesaler there who has wines from as little as $16 per bottle, some of which are actually drinkable.  He sells by the case as well.  There are often good discounts on the wine at Fairprice at Coronation Plaza as well.  The Cellar Door has lovely NZ wines for special occasions.

It's a super area - you'll just love it.  Absolutely everything you could want.
