What do you do if a SIA plane at Changi is 3 hours late ?

Do you ask to be reimbursed for one third of the ticket price ? Do you ask to be upgraded on a next flight ?

Any suggestion?
I only too SIA twice in 6 years, and each time it was a 3 hours delay

Maybe they will give you some food vouchers for the inconvenience.

Don't think you would get any money back or upgrades just for a 3 hour delay.

im not sure but i dont think theres anything you can do for a short delay.

clearly if it makes you so late that you miss a connecting flight then they have to reimburse you or put you in a hotel for the night if it will be an overnight delay.

only time i was ever reimbursed was after air france lost my luggage(happens almost everytime i fly with them) they gave me a $20 usd allowance to buy toothbrush, shampoo, etc to use until my luggage was found.

A 3 hour delay is nothing.

In Asia, airlines are not obliged to give compensation/upgrades/anything. Don't bother asking, you won't get it.

All an airline is obliged to do is to get you to your destination. Hopefully on time, but if the flight is delayed - tough.

A good airline will dish out some food/drinks vouchers to make the delay pass a little more smoothly. But it doesn't have to do that, either.

So the only thing I can do is to complain on this board.

I also wonder if SIA is not tired to serve the same old chicken noodles.

It gets tiring on the long run. Anything more original to serve ?

Yes and no.  If they are flying to anywhere that has signed the various international agreements on airlines (i.e Europe, North America, Australia, pretty much the REAL developed world) then yes, they have to compensate you in some form.

What that is.... is another story....

What if air-con men are also three hours delay. What can I do ? I had a new air-con installed in my appartment, and late again.

At the end of the week, I had already lost 7 hours of my time.

Open a can of beans.
Or snails.
Not worms.

im not sure where you are from? every other poster here agrees 3 hours is peanuts. fly buisness or first class and im sure they will kis your butt for the delay. fly budget or economy and forget extra services. its life. if you fly often you should be used to it.

I feel your pain; I lost 5 minutes and 26 seconds of my life reading this post.  I'll never get that time back.

no, it was another flight.

This morning a SIA flight was aborted because of engine problem.

When will we have international low-cost airlines instead of SIA ?
