been here in singapore for a week and i'm dumbfounded by what i see. it's just great, like nothing i've ever seen. Lips sealed am staying at a boutique hotel and it was nice and snug, even fashionable. but what is really remarkable in this country, i'm finding out, is the wide variety of places to see and experience, even if you're at the city center. Smiley

on our first weekend we went to Sentosa. it was some 15-minute ride from the hotel, and it was completely and altogether different! never in my life have i come across the good life to be so close. am sorry. i may sound like i'm exaggerating things. but that's the way i feel about it. then again, i don't have much travel experiences. Tongue i may be wrong, but i agree with an asia-based newspaper when it said that singapore is a utopia. Cheesy

Singapore does have that utopia feel for recent arrivals and by many accounts this is a great place to live.  However it is not an exciting city by any means and can get quite boring, you will find it necessary to travel a lot of times on the weekends.  The most important thing is to find good people to socialize with, there are many great expats and locals in this city who you can form lifelong friendships with.

Welcome to Singapore and enjoy your stay.

Singapore is not heaven but on a clear day you can see it from here.
Not that we get many clear days.
It is what you make of it.
Sometimes reading posts on this b o a r d I wonder if I am living in the same place.
I can count on the fingers of one hand the really nasty people I have met here.
The more you learn about the different groups here and their history and culture, the more you will enjoy your stay.
