A Japanese friend talked enthusiasticly about some Sashimi he got at Japan with 4 different kinds of salt. Huh At present I can think of 2 types (Seasalt and Black Salt (Kala Namak)). Have seen Bamboo Salt too at the Japanese Supermarket, is it worth to buy cause it is expensive?
Can you think of any other kind of salt that would fit into this description?
Cannot ask him, as he is on holiday on the other side of the world but am keen to try...

There are many types of sea salt from around the world, each with their own characteristics.

Okinawan sea salt is different from Mediterranean sea salt which is also different from Hawaiian sea salt...

There's also kosher salt, table salt (yuck), ...

No, not like that, it must be definitly something "special", today I found some
"Plum salt" nobody any idea, what the Japanese fellow was referring too?

sea salt.....table salt  and  iodise salt..

plum salt, sesame salt etc - they are 'flavored' salt. Not so much that the salt origin is different. Now there are different salts from different origin - plain salt that has the characteristic flavor of the place.
