Getting the best price for gold?

Hi can anyone lend advice about selling gold, I have a large piece I'd like cash for but want the best price. Is a pawn shop the only place to sell gold or are their other places? Who generally offers the best price? Any advice would be much appreciated.

Buy Madagascar gold adn take it back on the plane.  It is not stamped so you can take legally take large quantities overseas with you.   You can then have it inspected & stamped locally and you can sell on for very high profit.  Very tedious to do but a good way to make some extra $$$.
