Hi,
I am an ex Singapore PR currently living out of Singapore.
I recently got an offer from MNC with a position based in Singapore.

Just wanted to check up, am i eligible to apply and get EP ?  I have all the basic qualitifications and Salary packages to meet the EP conditions.

Does Singapore Govt has any issues, if its former PR apply for EP ?

Pls advice.

If you have taken out your CPF previously, you will need to return it plus interest.

Thought that only applied if you want to renew your PR, not for applying for EP on return.

Why you gave up PR.  If you were going to be liable for NS then likely yes, problem.  If not then likely will be ok.

My colleague was in the exact situation as you.  He gave up his PR to return home and several years later, he got a promotion to a position in Singapore.  He came back, applied for EP (was very qualified) and was rejected.  He regretted giving up his PR.

Hello,
Thanks a lot for your responses.
I went to ICA yesterday for reinstatement of my PR. Witout any questions asked, it was extended by 5 years. I showed them the current offer , i have recd from one of the top investbank in Singapore.

FYI, in the last 5 years of my PR ship i stayed and worked in Singapore only for 14 months.

I also hold a degrees from IIT /IIM India, so the result is expected.

One Australian wasjust before me in Q and his PR extension was rejected.. Smiley

Meanwhile, a million Indian residency applications per year are rejected by Australia.

Well a million a year may be being rejected (although that seems like a significantly over-inflated number to me), but I can tell you that based on the number of Indians now in Australia, a very high number are also being accepted.

What is IIT/IIM? Recognised qualification is not the only success factor, but also salary, position, company, etc.
Your second statement above is no relation to you at all; unless you want to discredit other nationalities and feel happy for their unlucky situation. In addition, what is your business to announce that his application was rejected?

I'm not sure I'd use the term "premier." A top tier university, to be sure, but certainly not the top.

And do you really think that a graduate of IIT would write this badly:

That is correct. Only when you intent to reapply for PR reinstatement that you need to return all the CPF monies plus interest. For EP application you do not have to .
Best to look at www.ica.gov.sg and www.cpf.gov.sg
