The AUD has been traded between 1.4885 (1973) to .4775 (2001).  The historical average since 1969 is 0.8869 USD, so now is a good time to buy based on this historical data.  If you only look at from when the AUD was 'floated' in it's modern sense (Dec 1983), rather than using various 'basket' systems ala Singapore style, the average is 0.7211, so again, a good time to buy the AUD and hold

Maybe not for investment but I definitely will be picking  up a few thousand A$ for my holiday in OZ next year. I am bringing forward by OZ holiday plans thanks to the A$
