Yep, SAFRA in Yishun is the place to go. 6 fifteen meter walls and some 3m high ones for practising. There is also 4 walls in SAFRA at Toa Payoh but you can't rent gear there. In Yishun the rope is provided (top-roping). There is also a book called "Climbing in Singapore" which you can buy from a outdoor store near City Hall (email me for details).

Thanks guys!

I had a look at Safra website, looks pretty cool.
They have a climbing wall at Bukit Merah as well, which is closer. Have any of you guys been there already? Can you rent the gear there? Do they have instructors?

Did it only once when company sent me for one week but in Outward Bound School in Ubin. Boy, that was fun.
Note that SAFRA is actually for Singaporeans who have served National Service. You can use as "guest" - no problem i'm sure, once you get to know the guys there, they will probably help you sign in as their guest. Quite a close-knit group I think - do see foreigners using the facility when I gym in Yishun.
and they occasionally conduct courses - beginners/ advance. Seems that even a group of gay guys calling themselves "MAW-Men After Work" have their climbing sessions on Sunday afternoons...

need to pester my friends again to take it up with me...

re - buying gear: there is a shop in peninsula plaza that sells chalk bags, harness's, rope etc...
re- verical limit, where to practice. Go to rifle range road and follow the mountain bike path to the "quarry" most weekends you will see climbers on the quarry face, there are several pitches there.

There's a small Climbing wall at Great World City's Planet Fitness, and I think there's also one at Suntec City's Planet Fitness
