We have opted for a 1 year lease rather than the standard two but do we pay the standard 2 + 1 month in advance or 1 + 1 as its only 1 year?

What would a 1 month / 3 month / 1 year / 2 year lease have anything to do with the security deposit (be it 1 month or 2)? The whole idea of the deposit is to ensure that the landlord has "security" in the event that his apartment is "damaged". The same "damage" can be made in any time frame......
