And it's never too late to try to be funny while you do it.

Such political correctness.. I watched an interview with a prominent African-American mayor who, when asked if Obama's election would signal a post-racial America, he said no, it would not and that race would always be a dominant issue. How sad, especially for young African-Americans to be forever indoctrinated with what is effectively a hatred against the rest of the world. However race has become their meal ticket, and watching Obama's acceptance speech with the right rev Jessie Jackson's chubby face, weeping and sucking on a fat straw (Satrbucks?) said it all. Well it now looks increasingly likely that Obama, now president-elect, will not pull out of Iraq. Already the apologist, his other promises (healthcare etc) are also sinking below the horizon. However his appointment of Rahm Emanuel as his White House chief of staff signalled a level of duplicity and betrayal unprecidented in US politics. Emanuel was once a volunteer in the Israeli army, helping to kill those innocents who tried to defend their homes and children. That Palestinians should stand up to Israel, is the real audacity of hope. Never mind GWB has 2 months to go, we have 4 years of Obama!

I’ve stared at this post for the past few days and wondered whether I should dignify it with a response. I guess the PP’s narrow-minded drivel pushed me over the edge.
Everyone is entitled to express their point of view, no matter how politically incorrect and offensive, but I wonder how many people looked at this posting and thought it was funny, or who, like me, felt it to be rather sad and inappropriate.

Basically the thread should be retitled "100 posts by Bitter and Whining People." My advice for Dr Phil is to just let is all out - and have a good cry, get it out of your system and move on. **there i edited "100 posts..." now let the whining continue.

I am not a Republican. I am not a Democrat. And my post was not intended to amuse. And I cant abide political correctness.
What I do applaud is pragmatism, fairness and honesty even when it means giving former adversaries a fair shake.
As I said, I have an overwhelming feeling that Obama has already sold Palestine out. Don't misunderstand me, I won't blame him if he lacks the courage to intervene and enforce countless UN resolutions against Israel, or just step aside...but I will hold him responsible if he renages on his expressed convictions for a single Palestinian state; which should have Jerusalem as its capital.
For those posters who were here during the Clinton years (Clinton/ Emanuel years) they may recall Clintons's crude attempts to seduce Arafat into signing a blank peace treaty, "the details to be filled in later". He stood his ground notwithstanding the intoxicating levels of bonhomie.
For those who recall the expectations of a pious straight-talking texan president and the eight years of disappointment...the illegal invasion of Iraq because of WMD, the deliberate dismantling of Iraqi infrastructure, the ensuing chaos and brutality as Shia fought Sunny...the inexplicable excursion into Afghanistan.... The unprecedented greed. I could go on, and on and on...
Let me say that my PP reflects the opinion of Experts both western and Midle Eastern, not just mine.
For those who have criticisms, catch up.

Dr Phil, what are you smoking?
Obama has been elected last week, and already you know he's not pulling troops out of Iraq?
Obama's been criticized for not being supportive enough of Israel, but now, since he hired an experienced chief of staff, he is somehow too supportive of Israel?

Perhaps you have missed all of the recent debates about how Obama can't possibly withdraw on schedule, inside 16 months and many agree, regardless of promises, that US has no intentions of withdrawing? Why do you think Obama recently warned citizens to be patient with him during his first term? Perhaps you also have missed the statement by Obama pledging unequivocal support to Israel and and stating that Jerusalem will remain its capital? What do they teach you kids at school today???

Dr Phil,
I didn't vote for Obama. However, your expectation that he side with the Palestinians is in no way realistic. They could have had a separate state in 1948 (out of the British mandate controlled land, which came from the Ottoman Empire's land) from the same UN Resolution that founded Israel. They chose war instead. And they've consistently chosen it ever since, except their war mostly takes the form of the planned murder of Israeli civilians doing things like riding on a bus, sleeping at home, or eating pizza.
And then they milk sympathy from the naturally aggressive Israeli responses to their crimes. Israel, could, if it wanted, wipe all the Palestinians out. But Israel restrains itself - which demonstrates that they are civilized. The Palestinians would, if they could, kill every last Israeli. Their lack of capability is the only thing that stops them - which demonstrates their barbarity.
Israel and the world wants a viable Palestinian state. But, the Palestinians have to demonstrate that they have enough discipline to have earned it by renouncing their decades of violence. They could do this by not murdering or kidnapping any Israelis for 1 year. They've never been able to manage that, but I hope they can.

I recall the huge give-away to US companies espcially banks, insurance and then auto manufacturers was G.W. Bush's idea. At least USD 700 million was mooted. When Obama was sworn in, it seemed a fait accompli and Obama appeared quite proud of this give-away whilst Republicans, responsible for the mess and US$ +700bn giveaway, stepped back and warned that the economy was now Obama's and what went down from here on was Obama's fault. Never mind 8 years of greed, corruption and toxic activity. Increasingly, we see bank cash injections disappear without so much as a burp. I detect there is a change of opinion in the air and all such subsidies will be cancelled. I expect things will get better when this happens. I mean, do we incur generations of debt just for a new car?

I'm glad to see Obama's not buying into any of the racial crap that's come his way before and since his inauguration. He didn't even bother with that NY Post cartoon BS. Good on him.
Fact is, he's got so much rubbish to clean up after the past eight years that I do feel sorry for him. But if he's able to even refloat the goodship USA, then he ought to be massively respected for the effort. The people who continually poke fun at him for what he is... well, obviously they're not seeing the real picture here about what's actually going on. Too much time, not enough brains or guts to fix things.
Obama's come into the White House at what could possibly be the worst time in US history in the past 100 years. That's not something to joke about.
If he's got to make some very tough and unpopular decisions to save the country and his people, then I support him... even if I'm not American.
