I know there have been a lot of posts on travelling with children but I wondered if anyone has specific experience with this age group? We didn't take my daughter back to the UK until she was 18 months so I haven't had to deal with a jet-lagged baby before.

Does anyone have any tips, experiences to share? We are on the morning flight over unfortunately and the early evening flight back.

We have flown with every age baby!!  Had a 6 month old this summer when flying back to the uk.  We've been very lucky to have had minimal problems at all ages (including 6 months).  I'm pretty sure it's because I have my kids on quite a strict routine here and I go straight onto it when I'm back (altering naps a little so they're not getting over tired or sleeping too much in the day).  Mine are usually on their routines on uk time within a day or two.  Good luck!

I flew back to the UK with my 6 month old recently.

after learning the hard way with my first daughter, this time I just let her dictate the pace.  Basically she napped and slept around about the same time slots, but woke up to the start the day around 4am the first day.  She then napped at sort of the same intervals through the day, and then bedtime was around 5 ish.  But then I was out for the count around 7pm that first day too.

It took the kids about 4 days to get totally on track and me an extra day or 2. I just found it less stressful to accept the first few days were going to be off schedule and just go with it, but then the opposite seems to have worked for PP so guess every kid is different!!

It is said that it takes 1 day per time zone to fully adjust and get over jet lag. I've found that to be true, but I've also found that after 3-4 days, while everything is not quite back to normal, it's not so bad anymore.
